Frequently asked questions
In all data recovery cases, success is not guaranteed. When we provide you your obligation free quote we will give you an idea of your success chances based on past recoveries that are similar to yours. Rest assured that when you use Payam Data Recovery, you have the highest chance of success!
If you have performed a quick format on the memory card through your computer and have NOT written any data to the card since the format, the chances of getting data back are good. If you write data to the card after the format, that is when the previous data will start to be overwritten which significantly lowers your success chances.
We have had many cases where we have successfully recovered data from memory cards that were formatted through a camera/phone. The success of this type of recovery is very case by case. We have learnt that some cameras and phones perform a secure erase on the card when the formatting occurs. If a secure format has occurred, recovery is normally not possible. We do our best to identify if recovery of the card is worth attempting during the free assessment period.
The general rule with deleted data is that the deleted data is still on the card until new files have been written to the card. Writing new files to the card overwrites the previous data. There is still a chance that we may be able to recover some previous data for you, but the success of this type of case comes down to how many new files have been written to the card.
