Short answer
The price is the same whether you want one file or all of them, because most of the work and cost is fixing the main problem. If you have a lot of other data, recovering only your photos can make the recovery faster, and we can copy everything to Google Drive or a small external hard drive. We recommend we give you everything, just in case you need it later.
How much does it cost to recover just my photos?
The price is exactly the same whether you want one file or all the files back from the majority of things that we do.
The main reason is that the time and the work that we do that we charge for is really to fix the main problem.
So if you bring us a mobile phone that’s been run over by a car and it’s not turning on, it’s all smashed, then the majority of the fee that we’re quoting you for is actually for us to do the repairs and get to the point that we can see any data.
Once we get any data back, then really, we just plug in an external drive, run some software, copy and paste, really, same sort of thing, and transfer all the files across.
There’s no real difference for us as far as the time involved.
The data transfer part is automated.
We kind of just stop and move on to other things.
That’s why we don’t really make it cheaper.
But in some cases, for example, if you just want photos back and you’ve got lots and lots of other data, for example, if it was a server or a NAS unit that had lots of terabytes of movies and music, then it’ll just mean that we get the data.
Like you much faster instead of like one week, it could be one day.
We could speed up the recovery and you can save money instead of buying a big external hard drive.
We can copy everything to Google Drive or a small external hard drive, sending you money and time.
So the cost is the same, but we can definitely copy what you want and we can exclude the rest.
But we always recommend we give you everything that was on the device, whether it’s a hard drive or an SSD or a phone, just in case there’s something you need in future, at least we’ve got it all back for you.
And whatever you don’t want, you’re welcome to delete it.
