Short answer
Yes, there is a very good chance. We recover data from water damaged MacBook Pros every week. Bring it in as soon as you can, because the sooner we start, the less corrosion there is, especially with salt water.
What Payam says
A few years ago nobody had a method to get data off a MacBook Pro that would not start. Over the last few years we have built in-house electronic repair skills and use specialised tools to remove the NAND chips or repair the logic board. Once the computer is working, we type in your passcode and make a full backup of everything.
We see at least five MacBooks every day that are liquid damaged. Tea and coffee are the most common, then juice, milk, pet accidents, swimming pools and bathtubs. The most important thing is to bring it to us quickly to prevent corrosion.
