Short answer
It depends on the item. Phones and tablets have a fixed price, so you can give your boss the price up front. For hard drives, SSDs, MacBooks and Surface computers we need to inspect the item first, but we can give an estimate or a maximum price, and you pay the lesser amount if the real cost is lower. The best approach is to let us inspect it and give you a written price to show your boss, and if it is not approved we return the item. Prices are subject to change.
I will need my boss to approve a quote. Can I obtain a quote before bringing it in?
It depends on the item. We are pleased to provide a quote, but generally, for items such as mobile phones, we offer a fixed-price service. For other items, including hard drives, SSDs, MacBooks, and Microsoft Surface computers, we cannot ascertain the issue without inspection. We aim to provide highly competitive pricing to offer you the most economical solution, thus a fixed price cannot be provided. We can, however, offer an estimate or a maximum price. For instance, if you have insurance coverage, we can issue a letter stating an estimated maximum cost. This enables you to obtain approval for that amount, and if the actual cost is less upon inspection, you will be charged the lesser amount.
Therefore, it is advisable to inform your superior of the minimum and maximum potential costs. Our current standard “economy” service prices usually range from about $375 up to about $2,500 Australian dollars (prices are subject to change). Should you require faster, priority, or emergency services, additional charges will apply.
The most effective course of action is to allow us to inspect the item, document the issue, and provide a fixed or written price. You can then present this to your superior for approval. If approval is not granted, there will be no hard feelings, and we will return the item to you. You may either collect it from our premises or we can arrange delivery for a $20 fee within Australia.
