FAQ: Can I submit one job number for 4 HDDs?

Short answer

If the drives hold different data or have different problems, complete a separate job form for each one. After the first form, a link asks whether you have another job and fills in your contact details again. If the drives all come from the same RAID unit, NAS or server, one form is enough. If you are unsure, complete one form and send all four drives in one package, and we will sort it out.

I have four hard drives.

Can I submit one job number?

On our website, a prominent green button indicates “Start Your Recovery Today.” This initiates what we refer to as a submitted job form.

If the four hard drives contain distinct data and present different issues, we advise completing a separate job form for each hard drive. Upon completion of the first form, a link will appear at the bottom asking, “Do you have another job?” Selecting “yes” will prompt the same form again, automatically populating your contact details. For subsequent submissions (second, third, and fourth), you will only need to specify the most critical files or describe any differing problem descriptions. For instance, clients sometimes present two dead hard drives, one accidentally reformatted hard drive, and another for which they require a data inventory.

The only circumstance under which we request a single form for four disks is if they are part of the same RAID unit, NAS, or server. If the four drives were physically integrated into a single box, enclosure, or device, we categorize this as a RAID job. In such cases, when completing the submitted job form, please indicate that the “device has RAID or NAS unit,” and only one form is necessary for our assessment.

If you are uncertain about the appropriate procedure, simply complete one form and submit all four drives in a single package; we will manage the sorting process. While adhering to the correct procedure streamlines our operations, our primary focus is data recovery, not data entry. If you require clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.
