Frequently asked questions
In all data recovery cases, success is not guaranteed. When we provide you your obligation free quote we will give you an idea of your success chances based on past recoveries that are similar to yours. Rest assured that when you use Payam Data Recovery, you have the highest chance of success!
If you have performed a quick format on the USB through your computer and have NOT written any data to the USB since the format, the chances of getting data back are good. If you write data to the USB after the format, that is when the previous data will start to be overwritten which significantly lowers your success chances.
Repairing the broken USB connector is part of our recovery process. Once the connector has been repaired, we would extract the data to a new external hard drive either provided by you or bought from us. If the connector is too damaged to repair, we would provide you a quote for a chip off recovery.
A chip off recovery is where we remove the memory chip that stores your data and either transplant the chip to another USB flash drive, or read the memory chip through custom made adapters and software. This is an extremely delicate process that needs to be executed perfectly so the chip is not damaged in the process. We perform chip-off recoveries every day for various devices so rest assured that we know exactly how to approach and execute these types of cases.
