FAQ: iPhone 15 Pro Max run over – Can data survive?

The answer from Payam Toloo, Owner of Payam Data Recovery:

Yes, we frequently encounter mobile phones with significant physical damage, such as shattered screens or devices that have been run over by vehicles. For instance, last week, a specific incident involved a concrete mixer running over a phone.

As long as the CPU and the NAND, which houses the phone’s memory, are not physically fractured or damaged to the extent of chip destruction, there is a high probability of data recovery. In the vast majority of cases, approximately 90%, the damage is limited to the screen and the crushed rear casing, with the internal chips remaining intact.

In such instances, we carefully remove the logic board, even if it is bent. We are then able to transplant the chips and transfer them to another phone, a process we refer to as a board swap or logic board transplant. This procedure offers a very good chance of recovering all data, provided the correct passcode is known.
