I bought a cheap external drive to back up my family photos, due to poor management on my part this soon became the master copy and then of course the drive became corrupted!!

I was about to upload my family photos to share with my parents and families overseas when the hard disk produced regular clicking sound. The photos were unsuccessfully retrieved. While our IT guys were installing my wife's new work system I asked them to have a look at the home PC that had been performing erratically. When my relatively new laptop (Less than 12 months old) froze I assumed it was a minor problem. When I was unable to re boot the computer I took it to a local computer shop and was informed the hard drive was damaged and all data lost.

When I got the dreaded blue screen Dell happily replaced the HDD but of course left me the task of recovery from the failed HDD. My local computer gurus could not recover the data but recommended a firm in Brisbane who sent it onto their better equipped office in Sydney. After about 3 or 4 weeks they advised me that they couldn't recover the data because they could not get a replacement PC Board for it and they believed that that was it, nobody could get it back.

Before I gave up I searched the 'net and contacted a number of firms in Australia and America. Some of those outfits certainly were not what they pretended to be when you started to inquire more into them and their charges were very high and open ended.

Of all of these Payam sounded fair dinkum and I asked my son-in-law to call in and see if they were for real and actually did the job and were not just a drop address. We got a quote from them, we left the drive with them, they did what they said they would do in the time they stated and I got all my data back for the quoted price and that was lower than any of the others would have been on their 'estimates'.

I hope that I never have to deal with them again but if I do have a similar problem I will without hesitation go straight to them. I have done all the research I believe I will ever need to do on data recovery and highly recommend Payam.

The external hard drive I purchased was specifically for backup purposes, which I religiously undertook every couple of weeks. Because of the need for hard disk space on my laptop,
I trusted the backup copy I had on the external hard drive and deleted the files on my computer.

To my extreme distress I found that the external HDD would not work when I attempted
to reload the information. I had potentially lost an entire year's worth of research data.

Couple of weeks ago my computer ceased to work and I could not boot-in. Having dual system (WinXP and Win2000) I tried both system to no avail. My eldest son "did the right thing" and bought two (2) USB HDD on which to back up his laptop, and were both subsequently used as transportable HDD's whilst travelling around Europe and on training locations for the UK military (Cyprus, Macedonia, Germany etc) instead of carrying his laptop with him.  

These HDD's were probably not treated with the best of respect they deserved (temperatures in mid 40's deg C), and to my son's horror they both failed when he eventually connected to his laptop.  

Being based in London, my son decided to try and find a data recovery company here in Sydney whilst on a week's home leave in August 07.

One drive would display the message "not accessible", whilst the other caused the USB port to overload and shutdown.

My son obtained the details of Payam, I believe, after tracing the supplier of Lacie HDD's here in Sydney.  This in itself is a good reputation advertisement, and as such my son delivered the "not accessible" HDD to Payam, of Payam Data Recovery Pty Ltd.

The service delivered by Payam and the company was "spot on".

Regular updated information, attention to detail, the majority of data (probably 99%?) was recovered, one or 20 randomly picked files we tested was corrupt but luckily there was a backup copy file and this was ok in 40Gb of recovered data.........everything was as one would, and should expect, but unfortunately is very much lacking with many companies nowadays.

My son was extremely pleased with the results, (although now back in London) and this has lifted a great weight from his shoulders, so as to speak.

The icing on the cake was that Payam, although the cost to do this data recovery for my son was quoted, actually reduced the price on the final invoice.  What more can you want?

I arrived home and excitedly put the cd of my saved photos from a brilliant trip to Kakadu and Arnhem Land into my computer…nothing there, they had been zapped by airport baggage check security scanners and not one photo had survived. 

After weeks of trying different solutions and talking to IT experts it looked like specialist data recovery was my only hope.  I contacted Payam because of the client base listed on their website and they were wonderful. 

It took a couple of attempts using different software but they were finally able to recover all my photos and five small videos.   I was over the moon.

Like many, I thought my laptop computer would keep on performing perfectly as it had done for the past 2 years. Unfortunately that didn’t happen as I experienced the fatal “CRASH”. Luckily I had taken out an extended warranty when I purchased it 2 years earlier and felt it would all be fixable. 

How wrong I was, the verdict came back “hard drive failure, but don’t worry your extended warranty covers the cost of a new one, BUT the data on the old drive MAY NOT be recoverable”. I was reviewing on camera the photographs of our visit to our Daughter in Japan and holiday in China and was fiddling with intention to rotate some images whence accidently reformatted the disc. Shock horror to realise all the images were wiped out.

My Ibook started to make weird noises and one day it just stopped. I took in to the Mac store and they said it was the fan that died and overheated my hard drive or in other words the hard drive was fried.

They also delivered the news that they couldn't save any of my work but send me to Payam and Payam. Only after a few minutes of checking my hard drive I got news that they probably could save some of my work at least.

During a fantastic trip to Egypt we took 500 digital photos downloading them on to our brand new ipod as we went. Imagine our horror when on the last night of our trip our photos were corrupted after a software glitch when someone tried to use our ipod as a removable drive.

To all intents and purposes our photos were gone. Our only hope was the fact that the photos ‘appeared’ to be on the ipod but in corrupted form, unreadable on both a MAC and a PC.

After 4hours overnight on Skype to Melbourne and wherever to get help from Macintosh we were not much further down the track. We even researched photo retrieval on the internet. We then abandoned the task until our return to Melbourne. A trip to a major photo chain in Melbourne to retrieve the deleted photos from the camera memory cards was helpful and hopeful, but disappointingly fruitless.

Finally we went to Macintosh technical help and they put us on to PAYAM. After listening to all details, it took PAYAM 2 days to retrieve 900 photos for us directly from the ipod and put them onto DVD. It was a fantastic result well worth the money!

My Lacie hard drive was formatted and consequently meant I lost 220GB of itunes music. The hard rive on my notebook simply died. I had always been promising myself to backup but typically did not. The Notebook guy could not recover the data. Fortunately they suggested Payam Data Recovery.

We had two hard disc failures - the on-board disc on our Mac iBook, and our backup disc.  Our Apple dealer was unable to solve the problem, and recommended PAYAM.

One morning out of nowhere the computer at our salon would not turn on with that terrible blue screen signifying real problems!! 

Our regular IT guys came in to see what was happening and then advised they would need to take the whole computer to their office to scan the hard drive for any possible recovery of previous files without much confidence. When my laptop started to go slow without any reason I just thought to restart it again. At that point it just showed a black screen along with a creepy clicking sound coming from the hard drive.

Please accept my heartfelt thanks for the work you did in recovering the data on my laptop's hard drive.  The machine was quite old, done a lot of travelling and seen lots of action.  It was definitely due for replacement and I had simply been putting off this task.

A very senior manager in my company recently had a very bad partition corruption on his laptop's hard drive that caused considerable concern and frustration while he was travelling on business in New Zealand
