FAQ: Phone repair – Can I get a report?

The answer from Payam Toloo, Owner of Payam Data Recovery:

We are not generally keen on paperwork; as computer enthusiasts, we prefer to resolve issues, feel satisfied, and proceed to the next task. We dislike generating reports, PDFs, and general paperwork, which is inherent to the nature of our business. We are IT professionals, not bureaucrats or administrative personnel.

However, we can provide an email template with our company letterhead, including our company details, and offer a brief description of our services. Generally, for warranty or insurance claims, we maintain complete honesty without revealing our trade secrets regarding data recovery. For instance, with a phone, we can provide a report detailing the issue. If we received a phone that was not turning on, and the customer informed us it had been dropped in a swimming pool, we would include that in the report. We would explain that we temporarily repaired the phone by performing electronic repairs, ensuring all original parts remain intact, and that we created a data backup.

This is generally sufficient because sometimes we return working phones, and if you attempt to take it back to Apple or the manufacturer, they might not repair it due to our temporary fix. However, we typically present a report, and for anything particularly extensive, we may need to charge for our administrative time. Nevertheless, we generally provide this brief report free of charge.
