This Emergency iPhone 12 Pro Data Recovery case study explains how a severely smashed and bent iPhone 12 Pro was recovered using advanced logic board microsurgery and NAND chip reballing at an Australian data recovery lab.

This Emergency iPhone 12 Pro Data Recovery case study documents a same day recovery from a severely smashed and bent iPhone 12 Pro. The device had already been inspected by a phone repair shop and another data recovery provider, both advising a turnaround of several weeks. Due to urgency, the customer contacted Payam Data Recovery for emergency service at our Australian lab.

The Problem: Smashed and Bent iPhone 12 Pro

The iPhone 12 Pro suffered significant physical impact resulting in a bent chassis and internal logic board deformation. Modern iPhones use a stacked logic board design, meaning even minor bending can fracture internal interconnects and prevent the device from powering on safely.

Attempting to charge or power on a bent iPhone can worsen internal damage. For cases like this, professional Apple iPhone data recovery is required to access the encrypted storage without causing further failure.

The Emergency iPhone 12 Pro Data Recovery Process

The objective for this emergency case was to recover the data on the same day. Based on the physical damage observed, engineers proceeded directly with component level work.

  • Logic board removal from the bent chassis
  • PCB layer separation of the stacked logic board
  • NAND chip reballing to restore reliable electrical connections
  • Direct data extraction from the repaired board

All work was performed in Australia using specialised microsoldering equipment designed for advanced mobile phone recovery.

Emergency iPhone 12 Pro Data Recovery Case Study Results

After approximately six hours of component level repair, engineers successfully accessed the encrypted storage. All photos and videos were recovered and copied to a USB external hard drive. A complete iTunes backup was also created for the customer.

This Emergency iPhone 12 Pro Data Recovery case study avoided the multi week delay originally quoted elsewhere.

This Emergency iPhone 12 Pro Data Recovery case study confirms that same day recovery is possible when logic board damage is handled using specialist component level techniques.

Why Professional iPhone Data Recovery Matters

Severely bent or smashed iPhones cannot be handled by standard phone repair methods. NAND storage relies on intact power, clock, and data lines. Any break in these connections prevents access to the encrypted data.

Professional iPhone data recovery uses controlled microsurgery techniques under magnification to stabilise the logic board long enough to extract data safely.

NAND flash memory is the non volatile storage used in modern smartphones, and physical damage can break the microscopic solder connections required for encrypted data access. A technical overview of NAND flash memory architecture is available on
Wikipedia.

Payment is only after successful recovery. The device passcode or PIN is mandatory due to Apple encryption.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can data be recovered from a smashed and bent iPhone?

Yes, provided the encrypted storage can be electrically stabilised through logic board repair or NAND chip reballing.

How long does emergency iPhone data recovery take?

Emergency service can be completed the same day depending on damage severity and lab workload.

Is my passcode required?

Yes. Without the correct passcode, data recovery from an iPhone is impossible.

Do you charge an attempt fee for iPhone recovery?

No. All mobile phone and tablet recoveries have no attempt fee.

Can you recover deleted iPhone data?

No. Deleted data cannot be recovered due to encryption.

What happens if recovery is not possible?

If data cannot be recovered, no payment is required.

hi there today i’d like to tell you a story about an emergency job that we received at our data recovery lab here in sydney we have a customer’s iphone 12 pro that’s been very badly smashed and slightly bent our customer told us they took it to a mobile phone repair shop and then a data recovery company in brisbane and queensland they were told that unfortunately it couldn’t be fixed very quickly it was going to take several weeks to get data back they contacted us and looked for our emergency service our goal today will be to try and recover the data on the same day by pulling the logic board out and extracting the data off the memory chip copying it to a hard drivegot some good news after six hours of micro surgery and component level repair the iphone that we received earlier today has been successfully recovered all the data is now being copied to this usb external hard drive all the photos and videos and we’re in the process of making a complete itunes backup now this particular phone was damaged due to being bent and due to the bending of the logic board we had to remove the nand chip reball it and put it back on as well as separating the layers of the pcb to that process and the end result was we managed to get all the data back and our customer didn’t have to wait two or three weeks like one of our competitors told them
