Data Recovery from a hard disk with deleted files, re-formatted or re-imaged.

We can recover lost, missing & deleted data as a result of accidental deletion, reformatting and re-imaging of a hard drive as long as the data has not been overwritten. Stop using the hard drive with the lost data immediately.

In most cases lost data can be recovered but some data may be corrupted, sometimes the filenames and foldernames are lost and in other cases we can make it a perfect recovery of all data. We won't know for sure until we spend at least several hours of our time to try. We will use data recovery and computer forensic tools to try to scan your disk and save any data left on the disk that you may not be able to access. We can often get a much better result than software you can buy yourself or what other IT experts may have already tried.

The good news is, we recover deleted and lost data due to reformatting for hundreds of customers each year with good results. We have lots of experience and know the best way to help you get the best result possible. As long as you have not filled up the hard drive with too much, there is always a chance that we can recover the data for you and copy it to another working hard disk to return the data to you.

Cost:
We ask for a payment of $150 inc GST for our time to attempt this type of work. because there is no guarantee that the data is still there and has not been overwritten, this is a fee for our time to make a serious and professional attempt to recover all possible data for you. This is a non-refundable payment for our time to attempt this work.

If we can recover your data and you are happy to accept the data saved you will be asked to pay another $600 only if the result is useful to you. If the data is not recoverable or is corrupted and no use to you, you do not pay the $600 if you do not want the data we can save. This process normally takes 7-10 days on average  for our Economy Service (for $600) but if you would like our Priority Service, this is $500 extra so you pay $150 + $1100 if the data can be recovered and we can have the data recovered as fast as humanly possible (1-2 days on average or longer for very large drives). This is a realistic time estimate, we don't false advertise fast time estimates to gain your business. We are always honest with you. 

We will ask you to pay the initial $150 before we begin work once we receive your disk. You can pay in person at our office by cash, EFTPOS, Credit card or pay by bank transfer (EFT), Paypal or by Credit card on our web site if you prefer. This process is made up 7 steps:

1. Correctly identify the fault (confirm the disk is working and the lost data is in not visible).
   
2. We will email you a quote asking for a payment of $150 inc GST to attempt this data recovery work. This is a non-refundable fee for our time. This is charged to cover our engineers time. There is no refund for this payment.
3. We will ask if you if you want our Priority Service (1-2 days average) or Economy Service (7-10 days on average). If the data can be recovered to your satisfaction, an additional $600 for our Economy Service of $1100 for the faster Priority service.
   
4. We will try to recover all possible lost, deleted and missing data .
   
5. Once the data has been saved, we'll copy the data to another hard disk for you (we supply external hard disks at an additional cost or you can supply your own spare disk to us.
   
6. You can come to our office to examine/test any important data saved on a computer (or we can email you a file listing and some screenshots if you prefer then send it back by a courier) and if you are happy with the results, you pay the the 2nd payment of $600 (Economy) or $1100 (Priority) inc GST due at this stage. If for any reason the data cannot be recovered or is corrupted, you do not pay this 2nd fee. 

Payment Plan option: $150 + $600/$1100 to recover data from a hard disk that's only worth $100-$200 can be a shock! If you cannot afford to pay the full price when the work is completed, we can offer you a monthly payment plan for the 2nd payment of $600/1100 but not for the $150 initial payment. We will request you provide us with your credit card details and we will charge you each month on your credit card. No interest or other charges. This is simply to help you. Note: You must ask for this Payment plan when you 1st approve the quote to begin work to take up this option. We normally offer a 3 month payment plan option only for this service. (i.e Pay 1/3 at the time of completion, 1/3 the next month then the final 1/3 another 1 month later).

Any cheaper option?
Yes, If you do not want your hard disk back. We can offer you a $50 discount on the $600/$1100 payment. Once you get your saved data back, we will keep your old hard disk here for spare parts. We can use the PCB, heads or other parts to fix problems for our other customers in future.
